Fall 2012 Runway Dresses
This year's designs include something for everyone! Whether you love vintage, traditional, glamour or boho, you'll definitely find a dress you love for your big day. The vintage dresses this year are very 20's flapper, but with a beautiful modern touch to make them perfect! The strapless, fringe Hayley Paige dress is to die for!
We're seeing layers of chiffon, sexy (but not too sexy) slits in dresses, feathers, ruffles and even black dresses! If you're in love with all things modern, you'll want to check out the entire Angel Sanchez line. And you can never go wrong with Marchesa or Monique Lhuillier. Beautiful!

Jennifer and David's elegant wedding took place in the gardens of a private home and Inviting Occasion, once again, went all out with gorgeous arrangements consisting of hydrangeas, roses and succulents. Our color palette was a calming and beautiful mixture of pale yellow, grey green and grey and Paper Source pulled those colors into their well-designed invitations.
This was such an intimate and lovely wedding. After eating great food by The Food Matters, guests sampled cake by Superfine Bakery and soon after, Jen and David's family provided some of the entertainment; which added a nice personal touch to the reception. Everyone danced to the Tony Galla Band and had a fabulous time! Thank you Amelia Strauss and Graham Yelton of Bound By for these amazing images!

Inviting Occasion: Bouquets
Larrissa Rehder of Inviting Occasion is a true artist. Every time I work with her, she amazes and inspires me with her beautiful work. Larrissa started out as a mural painter after graduationg with a degree in Studio Art from the University of California, Irvine. Then she started designing invitations and throwing parties where guests raved about her floral arrangements and asked why she wasn't doing this for a living?
Her love of art and events led her to create Inviting Occasion, an incredible group of artists who truly love what they do and it shows. I love working with Inviting Occasion and I'm so grateful for everything they do! Although they create so much more than just bouquets, in this post I want to focus on their lovely bouquets to get all you brides-to-be inspired for your big day!

Lindsay and Kevin at the Langham!
Lindsay and Kevin vacationed in Maui every summer. What a great tradition to have! But in 2010, the traditional tropical vacation changed a little. Kevin told Lindsay he wanted to go to Waikiki the week of July 4th, before going on to Maui. So, on the Fourth of July, Lindsay and Kevin sat between two outriggers on the beach and watched fireworks. When the show was over and things quieted down, Kevin popped the question and completely surprised Lindsay.
Lindsay and Kevin envisioned a wedding that mirrored their relationship with each other and their personalities. They wanted something romantic, inviting and elegant. Lindsay wanted a whimsical garden atmsophere and the Japanese Garden at The Langham in Pasadena was the perfect place for the ceremony. Lindsay and Kevin chose the elegant Georgian Ballroom for their reception with it's beautiful chandeliers, high vaulted ceilings and traditional crown moulding.
Family is so important to Lindsay and Kevin and Lindsay's God-daughter and her niece were both adorable flower girls! Lindsay and Kevin also felt that not having their 7-year-old Siberian Husky, Keesha, be a part of their wedding would just feel like a piece of them was missing. So Keesha got to be a beautiful ring bearer for the ceremony!
Kevin's father unexpectedly passed away when Kevin was in high school and they wanted to be sure to incorporate his memory into their big day. So Lindsay surprised Kevin with a small charm with a picture of his dad on his boutonniere on the wedding day. At the reception, Kevin's Uncle Steve (Kevin's dad's brother) gave an unexpected, lovely and emotional speech in remembrance of Kevin's father.
It also happened to be Kevin's grandmother's 83rd birthday on the couple's wedding day! Lindsay and Kevin had a special cake decorated with old French lace and a mongrammed "M" for Marilyn while 150 people sang her Happy Birthday. She was so happy and it was such a great moment. Congratulations Lindsay and Kevin!

The Most Wonderful Time....The Most Wonderful Things!
It's our absolute favorite time of year so naturally we cannot wait to share some of our favorite things this season ;). Great Thanksgiving Table Designs
Sometimes we focus so much on the Thanksgiving menu and food preparation, that we don't pay enough attention to the table design. Don't forget that presentation is (almost) everything! You're working so hard on the meal, so why not honor that hard work and your delicious dinner with a beautiful table.
Food Inspiration: Think about the colors in your meal and incorporate that into your table design. Cranberry, sweet potatoes and pumpkin pie make up a delicious color scheme. Choose your flowers based on your color scheme too. Deep red roses and orange hydrangea are great choices for an autumn table. For more neutral tones, Russian Sage is a lovely gray foliage with lavender blue to gray-blue flowers.
Ambiance: Don't forget that everything and everyone looks better in candlelight! Amber is the most flattering light to be in, and placing amber-colored candle holders around the table will create a beautiful, soft light as well as set a relaxing mood.
Less is More: Don't clutter your table with an excessive amount of decorations and serving pieces. You don't want your guests to be nervous about knocking things over. Give your table and your guests some elbow room, so they can just relax and enjoy your company and your amazing Thanksgiving meal!

Babies and Blessings
I cannot put into words how blessed I am with amazing friends, who I also have the privilege of working with on events. They gave my husband and I the most amazing baby shower ever! I'm sure I drove them crazy saying "no themes" and "no baby stuff everywhere".....I know subtle right?
As usual, they totally "got" me and the result was more than I could have asked for. The baby shower was Jonathan Adler meets vintage meets rock n' roll and it was to die for! From Larrissa and Jeni's floral, furniture, and paper installations to Sandee's super cute candy station, our guests didn't know what to take in first! Guests had a fabulous time getting their caricature drawn and watching Joseph, our awesome magician perform. They sampled amazing food from Carbonara's as well as cake from It's All About the Cake and of course the always fabulous Itty Bitty Sweets.
My sister really helped bring everything together and my nephew from Mix One Sound and Lighting enhanced the entire space beautifully. Enjoy these images from our talented friend Joel at Studio EMP ;)
